Default pvp rewards: only on one pvp character?

I searched for a similar thread but found nothing.

Isn't pvp characters all about creating and deleting and not feeling empty deleting the character because you can remake the armor and weapons again?

why must we be stuck with ONE pvp character to have all the reward points used on to unlock armor and weapons? It's the whole pve dilemma all over again: hmm, i don't like my hairstyle now, but i've got expensive armor on..." Why are pvpers feeling this pressure?! Why can't we unlock armor pieces and weapons in our pvp account and change up characters whenever we want and still have access to the unlocked items??

Please explain why it's better to force someone to keep a pvp character when the items can really be unlocked on your account and any different character you make (with respect to the items you've chosen to unlock) will have access to using the armor?

i like the idea of unlocking armor pieces for that specific profession and gender
cos pvp chars are made to be deleted, for me anyways
never had a pvp char for more than 4 months before it's deleted

P.S. don't we all spend reward points on Z Keys?

The idea is that you can now buy various PvP slots.

So intead of making and deleting, you have to buy the slots and keep them like that.

I would not do that. I'd rather make the items permanently unlocked by profession.

EDIT: Valid points to change my view on it. But I wish I wasn't being stupid and bought tons of stuff on my PvP 'Sin...

This is like in PvE. When you buy PvE armor you cannot spread it between all your PvE characters, you can only limit it to that one PvE character. The made PvP the same way. I personally wouldn't mind, but if they gave PvP'ers that option, then 70% of the player base in guild wars would QQ about it.

Only dedicated PvP'ers will spend their RP on armor/weapons. For the occasional PvP'er with one PvP slot, they just shouldn't bother.

While I am an advocate of the theory of PvE = looks and PvP = skills, and I am primarily a PvE player who will never be affected by this, I do have to agree that PvP also equals unlocking as opposed to acquiring. It does not make sense to only receive these fancy weapons/armor once if you have obtained them with reward points.

for some people that is the case, but lots of people have very, very old pvp characters. using reward points is essentially buying armor/weps for a character. if you delete a pve character... you dont get the armor back when you remake that class do you

why are people continually tying this idea in with pve, and them not being able to recreate with the same stuff..

pvp = insta lvl 20 and unlock equipment/skill

pve you earn all you junk.

tourney rewards should count as unlock, as its the only way for pvp chars to get ANY good looking junk, and not be deleted.

pve, tons of gear that pvp CABNNOT obtain, so many use pve to pvp with.

as neither of them are tied by their ability to/not to be remade, it IS AN INVALID argument.

all pvp titles are account wide, all equipment/skills unlocked are also account wide, hence the ability to recreate and equip the necessary skill/equip.

making ONE thing for pvp that cant be remade is completely againced the idea of creating a pvp char in the first place.

/signed if it wasnt obvious enough. shoulda been implemented the first day of tourney rewards.

Why are you spending your points on reward items anyway? Get keys, sell keys (or use and get cool stuff), make a PvE char that's maxed out and use him. Faster than unlocking all that crap with reward points, and you get to keep it all.

Some PvPer keep their PvP char for VERY long that they actually get a miniature on them.

But yeh I agree with you that it should be account based. Maybe make the req more and make it an option. Yes that mean you can either buy for individual PvP chars or account base with 3x as much req!

Seriously, why are people so two faced about this game?? You scream that pvp HAS to be like pve (when using your "you can't use your armor on different characters" arguement) but when pve'ers ask for some sort of benefit from a pvp feature like using skill points for the zaishen chest you scream NONO it's exclusive to pvp!!!!

Where do you draw that line? Why can't unlocking reward items on your account be exclusive to pvp?? Why should it be like pve?

And seriously, using the fact that people have year old pvp characters is a dumb reason. Most people don't have pvp characters older than a couple days o_O So be realistic.

And yes, people are more likely to use RP for Z keys right now, but if given the freedom to unlock an armor and it STAYS unlocked for that profession whenever you create it, then it'll excite more people into purchasing reward items. Amirite?

I agree with Ekelon, the only people who use their reward pts for armor and weapons are dedicated pvp players who play a specific role. others just use them on z keys... this way people can evolve their pvp player and stand out... if not we would all be running around looking the same with best weapons and armors. i like how it is now.. every once in a while, you are really impressed by a pvp players armor/weps.

I just don't get some people...

a pve'er with maxed armor can go out and enjoy everything (EVERYTHING) in the game.

a pvper with maxed armor just unlocked reward items is stuck in the pvp world (orly?).

Wow, why is this so bad to some people? Not all of us get hundreds of reward points easily and it's a godamn chore unlocking items, and to know that my pvp character is JUST like a pve character... what a joke. That's why most people create pvp characters because of the damn hassle it is to recreate pve characters over and over again.

This also goes back to all the players that hate maxing out a pve character then later on enjoy a different name or hairstyle. A pvper with unlocked reward items will feel the same way too. That should never be the case.

So you're saying that a dedicated PvP player should never have to feel an attachment to a character or something? What, are PvPers void of feelings?

Why is it all about a pvper and a dedicated pvper? This is an all or none deal, it's not split for those who want it and those who don't. If someone doesn't want to delete his character, fine.. your choice. But for those of us who would like to have that flexibility... we don't. If this is implimented... you can still keep your one year old pvp character... nothing is stopping you. So why is that being used as arguement? Doesn't make sense...

Onyx, frustrated?

For dedicated PvP'ers the PvP slot is used the same as you use your (main) PvE slot: create a character, stuff him with nice armors and never delete him.
The only reason you want to add this function is that you can show off with your fancy armor in Alliance Battles, unlocked with the xunlai house.

he's saying the people with year old characters, you can almost guarentee its been recreated at least once, to change name/face/hairstyle.

so that pvp player gets the best of it, while a pve character, already maxed, armor items lots of gold spent on it ect... thinks twice about recreating and starting over again just to change the name/face/hairstyle.

also there are people with year old pvp chars.. whoopdie doo. they are the minority of the pvp world. even the majority of those people stopped playing for a prolonged period of time, not recreating, thus they have a mini.

even the top 100 people, hardcore gvgers recreate their pvp chars from time to time. we're trying to update this, to help out the MAJORITY of the playerbase..

and to obtain these RP, you MUST rank high in tournaments, OR get insanely lucky at the xunlai tournament.

and for the majority of pvpers, and/or casual pvpers, obtaining these points are diffacult enough, and accumulating enough for this armor, well, is downright hard. so its still mainly reserved to the top players, due to the methods of obtaining it.
